Deck of Clover is a card shuffle swim with the clubs’ clover in hand from British artist Jenny Wright and her twin brother, a composer and sound engineer, Matt Wright. This ecard was created using a deck of cards, a felt pen and a camera in the traditional stop motion technique of taking twelve photos a second. This ecard is for those kings, queens, jacks and aces out there.
Jenny is an award-winning animation director who studied at Central Saint Martins. She works in traditional 2D hand-drawn animation. Her distinctive thick brushstrokes applied to minimal backgrounds gives the genre a modern twist. Jenny’s characters tend to be abstract, which makes space for the audience to bring their own experience to the stories she tells. Her short film ‘My Mother’s Eyes’ won Best Animated Short at Tribeca Film Festival, a beautiful and moving portrayal of motherhood and loss.
